How Do I . . . . . .?

Get Dental Treatment in an emergency?

A GP is not appropriately trained to deal with dental problems. This includes toothache, abscesses and problems experienced after dental treatment. We cannot provide antibiotics as it is necessary to have a full assessment before prescribing such things.

For emergency dental treatment outside normal working hours, registered patients should contact their dental surgery. Most surgeries have an answering machine message referring you to out-of-hours information.  If there is no message please ring 111.

Register a Birth?

You must register the birth within 42 days in the district where the baby was born. It usually takes no more than 30 minutes to register. Registering a birth is free.

One of the parents must register the birth in person. You cannot ask a friend or relative to register the birth. If neither of the parents is able to register, whoever is responsible for the baby would need to contact us. Click HERE  for more details.

Register a Death?

You will need to register a person’s death at a Registration Office in the district where the death occurred within 5 days, unless there are exceptional circumstances or the Coroner is involved. Go to the Hampshire County Council website for more details.

Self- refer to italk?

italk provides access to psychological therapies for people in the New Forest as well as the surrounding area. They also help people retain employment through our dedicated Employment Adviser posts, as well as working with other agencies to sign post people to suitable community provision.

For more details and to self refer ONLINE please go the italk website .

Please Note, you will need your NHS number which the Surgery is happy to provide you with if needed.
